I have been serving in the armed forces for many years. Whenever I get time I love to read about the military setups of the past. I do my reading of past dynasties on the Internet. Some random surfing led me to the Militare Ordine del Collare on http://www.mocsta.eu. It had extensive information on King Alfonso and his army. It described that after the conquest of Minorca by Alfonso III in 1288, a small league of extraordinary men were given the rank and dignity of knight by the King in lieu of making the fortress of Saint Agatha their home and keeping horse and armour and when needed defending the island militarily. It was a military confraternity, founded by decree of King Alfonso III 23 January 1289. The knights then came to be known as the knights from St. Agatha. It was a good reading, which gave me a lot of inputs and knowledge about how armies were formed and maintained, what work they did, what their artillery was like etc.
I have been a follower of past dynasties and their traditions. There are many publications and articles written on rulers and kings of the past. But not many concentrate on the House of Aragon and I was keen to learn more about the house. I was surfing on the Internet looking for information on the Order when I chanced upon http://realaula.homestead.com. It is here that I came to know that this institute not only imparts education but also publishes journals containing artistic and cultural information, in particular with regard to the activities of The Real Aula Mallorquesa and its members and features many articles on subjects related to the Militare Ordine del Collare. I was happy that I had finally found what I had been trying to find since so many months. I purchased the journal and read every bit of information on the Military Order of the Collar. I have collected all that information and now I making a book out of it.
I have the hobby of stamp collection. I have collected stamps of various countries and those with different themes. This time I had collected stamps of the Militaire Ordine Del Collare. I had collected them but knew nothing about it. Therefore, I felt like I was doing something useless. So to come out of this notion that I had about it, I thought it would be wise to surf upon the internet and find out if there’s some information on the topic.
So, I logged on to the internet and began searching for that. Eventually, I came across a link http://www.humsurfer.com, wherein I found detailed information on the Military order of the Collar. I got a good piece of information which described everything about the Order. There were also some topics that were discussed which included the Royal house of Aragon, Sicily, and Majorca, the knights of the fortress of St. Agatha, the Duke of Carcaci, King Alfonse, and the current day status of the Order, etc.
Now I was properly informed about the Order and was in a position to explain to others, the significance of the stamps that I had collected.
